“I’m taking a few more risks with my looks, without losing that classic foundation,” says Carol Toledo. Her current style brings classic and contemporary elements together, with boho influences and more maximalist choices. Accessories are among the clearest expressions of this experimentation. “Oversized jewelry and accessories have become my obsession.”

Fashion became the focus of her work after eleven years as a judicial advisor at the Court of Justice of Minas Gerais. The birth of her children prompted her departure, followed by a period of reflection on what might come next. In a 2024 interview with Glamurama, Carol explained that her first paid partnership with a clothing brand was instrumental in recognizing the professional potential of something she had already been doing for pleasure.
That growing visibility also brought a reassessment of her personal style. In March 2024, Carol told GPS Brasília about her desire to share more comfortable, less formal looks, broadening the classic image for which she was known. “I’ve been bringing more and more of Carolina, as she really is, to my social media,” she said at the time. Heels remained part of her wardrobe, but increasingly shared space with more relaxed looks.

Some of her choices from that period reveal how these elements coexist. For a trip to Venice in 2024, Carol chose an Alessandra Rich polka-dot dress with a straight neckline and a front slit. Discussing the look with Glamurama, she highlighted the pairing of a print associated with earlier decades and a contemporary silhouette. On the same trip, she wore a gold dress on the red carpet, while days spent exploring called for fluid fabric, a defined waist and flat sandals. Her choices accommodated both the impact of a special occasion and the freedom to walk through the city.

Today, her emphasis on oversized jewelry draws attention to another element capable of changing the way an outfit is perceived: the scale of an accessory. TAME New York is among her current favorites. Within the style she describes, these pieces offer room to play with proportion and prominence, while a classic foundation continues to guide the composition.

Her admiration for Sarah Burton’s work at Givenchy sheds further light on what she values in this relationship between continuity and experimentation. “I admire the boldness and, at the same time, the preservation of Hubert de Givenchy’s codes.” The observation offers a way of understanding her own approach: an interest in the new, alongside an appreciation for what gives a look its identity.
It is within this context that boho influences and maximalist touches enter her current vocabulary. The examples Carol highlights place particular emphasis on accessories, while her past choices reveal different ways of reinterpreting familiar elements. Polka dots take on a new silhouette; a comfortable outfit retains a defined waist; oversized jewelry commands greater attention. Classic style remains the starting point for a wardrobe that continues to expand.
