Christian Louboutin presents “The Loubi Show”

A celebration of dance and music at Le Trianon for its Fall-Winter 2024 women’s collection.

The Louboutin brand used the renowned Parisian theatre Le Trianon to present its Fall-Winter 2024 collection, bringing together lovers of the dramatic arts and fashion. The brand showcases its pieces through “The Loubi Show“; which combines dance, music, and the youthful spirit of the city of Paris on March 4, 2024.

Le Trianon and the History of Louboutin

The Pigalle district, where the Le Trianon theatre is located, and also where Christian Louboutin found his path in the fashion world, is in the 18th arrondissement of Paris. The emblematic concert hall, Le Trianon, opened its curtains in 1894; a must-see venue for live performances, offering a unique musical experience. After its reconstruction in 1902, the building designed by architect Joseph Cassien-Bernard combines eclectic elements of Napoléon III and Beaux-Arts styles, with its façade inspired by the Grand Trianon at Versailles. Christian Louboutin has both professional and personal ties to the area that houses the renowned concert hall. One of his most famous shoes, his stiletto-heeled pump with red soles, is named “Pigalle” in homage to his favorite neighborhood in Paris. The designer spent much of his youth in the region around Le Trianon.

Fashion and Dance

Featuring twelve dancers from the dance company La Marche Bleue, founded by Leo Walk, the choreographer of this presentation. Leo creates a blend of contemporary dance and street hip-hop, and the performance explores the choreographer’s personal and intimate themes, as well as human connection, joy, hope, and the attitude of embracing life’s uncertainties. The dancers showcase their talent and sensitivity on stage throughout the show. Although their movements are captivating, the crystal-adorned MJ Moc Loafers and the revamped Miss Sabine sandals catch the eye, accompanying every step and movement of the performance. The footwear not only enhances the dance’s delicacy and natural flow but also serves as a testament to the maison’s impeccable craftsmanship, design, and workmanship.

From Set Design to the Catwalk

The renowned Franco-American visual artist Jan Melka was responsible for the show’s scenography. Melka drew inspiration from volumes and bodies. The ethereal music of the Parisian duo Clara Cappagli and Armand Bultheel, of the group Agar Agar, enhances the sensory experience of the performance with its immersive blend of French pop and electronic music. Agar Agar’s live show further elevates the spectacle, paying tribute to the past and looking toward the future; it also complements the space and the pieces featured in The Loubi Show. Christian Louboutin presents his Fall-Winter 2024 women’s collection amidst the festivities and performances. Exquisite designs are showcased in this stunning courtyard setting, surrounded by beautiful columns and floating in crimson recesses within a mirrored chrome box that creates an infinite reflection of the environment. The choice of venue, choreography, music, and scenography all complement one another to create a dazzling and unforgettable evening, uniting dance stages with fashion runways. Christian Louboutin references his past while never losing sight of his vision for the future.
