Amelia and Elisa share a home, a closet and one of their greatest passions: Sisterly Style, where they create content about fashion, beauty and travel.
“We have shared an entire life: the same best friends, activities, bedroom, closet and work. Boyfriends are the exception. That is not something we share,” Elisa says, laughing. Colombians Amelia and Elisa were born conjoined twins and were separated at four months old, but their connection extends far beyond the physical. Together, they created Sisterly Style, where they produce content about fashion, beauty and travel for more than 430,000 followers on Instagram.
Lifestyle Mag: You describe yourselves as sisters, best friends and soulmates. Is your relationship harmonious all the time?
Elisa: My mother says we are like the perfect marriage. We have our differences, so sometimes we argue, but we move on very quickly.
LM: What are the main differences between you?
Amelia: I have a stronger, more dominant personality.
Elisa: And I am more sensitive and emotional, which actually works well with the way we divide our responsibilities at Sisterly Style. Amelia takes care of more of the finances and administration and deals with clients, while I focus more on content and creative direction.
LM: How would you describe your style?
Elisa: We are eclectic, but we love a casual style with a Latin and chic touch. Amelia is more classic and neutral, while I take more risks and am more eclectic, so I think our style is the perfect mix of both.
Amelia: We put together looks for special events together. When I was shopping for my wedding dress, Elisa kept saying, “You need to buy that dress. I am your stylist, and I am telling you, that is your dress.” (laughs)
LM: What is the greatest challenge you have faced together?
Amelia: We have been through so much together, both as sisters and twins and as a family. We have faced extremely difficult and painful situations, like when my father passed away 11 years ago and it broke our hearts, and last year we lost our niece Mia, who was battling brain cancer. The support and love of the people around you is the only way to get through something like that.
LM:You have always shared the same bedroom and the same routine. How are you feeling about the changes that come with Amelia’s marriage?
Elisa: We are very happy, but at first I was a little in shock, like, “Oh my God, this moment is actually here.” But I think it is a natural part of life. It is difficult, and we are going to miss each other a lot, but it is a new chapter, and we feel grateful and blessed because we will still see each other every day.
