A soirée among stories, glasses and smiles

Lifestyle Mag celebrates its Global Edition in the heart of Samaritaine, Paris

Paris was the stage for the latest celebration of Lifestyle Mag’s Global Edition, gathering more than one hundred guests at L’Appartement inside the iconic Samaritaine. Following the intimate lunch in New York, the arrival in the French capital was not merely a continuation, but the affirmation of a nearly twenty–year journey devoted to translating the spirit of the times into pages, screens, and experiences.

The space transformed into a living stage of memories and inventions. Cartier recreated the atmosphere of a refined office, reminding us that writing, sketches, and archives can also be jewels. Meanwhile, the Orient Express — legendary for its gilded carriages and endless tales of travel — served champagne from train-style carts, evoking the glamour of departures, as if each glass were a ticket to another era.

More than an event, the evening became a manifesto on the art of storytelling. As founder and publisher Claudia Ribeiro Bernstein reminded, the question was never about choosing between print or digital, but about creating something capable of existing in multiple forms — a cover, a podcast, a reel, or a face-to-face gathering. What truly matters is the experience of being wherever the reader is, in dialogue with both the present and the eternal.

Held on October 1 during Paris Fashion Week, the evening also marked a new chapter in a relationship first established between Lifestyle Mag and Samaritaine in 2023. For the occasion, L’Appartement was reserved for a cocktail hosted by Claudia Ribeiro and Samaritaine, bringing the magazine’s international community together in one of Paris’s most recognizable destinations. During a week shaped by shows, presentations and appointments across the city, the private setting offered a more personal format, allowing conversations and encounters to unfold throughout the evening.

Lifestyle Mag itself became part of the visual setting. Covers from different issues appeared throughout L’Appartement, displayed along the racks and surrounded by Samaritaine’s recognizable orange bags. The installation brought the magazine’s editorial history into the room, with its subjects and contributors becoming part of the environment rather than remaining confined to the printed page. It also reflected an idea discussed while the event was being conceived: that the Global Edition could have a physical presence at Samaritaine and become part of the experience offered inside L’Appartement.

The guest list gave that idea a distinctly international character, with a strong Brazilian presence meeting figures from fashion, design, media and hospitality in Paris. The gathering reflected the kind of exchange that becomes particularly visible in Paris during Fashion Week, when the boundaries between fashion, design, travel, publishing and hospitality become increasingly fluid. At L’Appartement, those disciplines shared the same rooms. Guests moved between the Cartier presentation and the world of the Orient Express, stopped in front of past Lifestyle Mag covers and met people whose work has appeared within the magazine’s own editorial universe.

The format also gave the evening a rhythm of its own. With L’Appartement removed from the scale of the department store below, the celebration unfolded through smaller conversations and encounters between guests. The magazine was present not only through its covers, but through the community that has formed around it, connecting people who have contributed to its pages with those encountering its Global Edition in Paris.

The Global Edition is also a declaration of independence and reach, already immortalized in covers that have featured names such as Meghan Markle, Lauren Santo Domingo, Diane von Furstenberg, Clive Owen, and Gilles & Boissier. From New York to Paris, the journey now continues to São Paulo — the final chapter of a trilogy that connects continents through the universal language of style, culture, and the art of living.
