Antes de aprender a administrar um hotel, Valentina De Santis<\/a> aprendeu a desaparecer dentro de um. Durante a inf\u00e2ncia, percorria os corredores do Grand Hotel Tremezzo<\/a>, entrava nas cozinhas e nos bastidores e observava h\u00f3spedes serem recebidos como velhos amigos, porque o neg\u00f3cio da fam\u00edlia era tamb\u00e9m o lugar onde ela crescia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hoje, Valentina conduz ao lado dos pais, Paolo e Antonella De Santis, duas propriedades que compartilham os mesmos valores sem se comportar como g\u00eameas. O Grand Hotel Tremezzo preserva o movimento e a teatralidade de um grande hotel da Belle \u00c9poque, enquanto o Passalacqua<\/a>, adquirido pela fam\u00edlia em 2018 e aberto como hotel em junho de 2022, ocupa uma villa do fim do s\u00e9culo XVIII em Moltrasio. Suas 24 acomoda\u00e7\u00f5es se distribuem entre a Villa, o Palazzo e a Casa al Lago, em meio a sete acres de jardins que descem at\u00e9 o Lago de Como.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00c9 essa escala mais \u00edntima que recupera uma palavra quase ausente do vocabul\u00e1rio contempor\u00e2neo das viagens: villeggiatura<\/em>, a arte italiana de transferir a vida para uma casa de campo durante uma esta\u00e7\u00e3o. Ampliada para o conde Andrea Lucini-Passalacqua pelo arquiteto Carlo Felice Soave, a villa j\u00e1 havia acumulado muitas hist\u00f3rias antes de se tornar um hotel. Durante uma estadia em 1831, Vincenzo Bellini comp\u00f4s ali La Sonnambula<\/em> A restaura\u00e7\u00e3o procurou acrescentar uma nova camada a esse passado, preservando a intimidade da casa sem transform\u00e1-la em cenografia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

VDS: Aprendi muito cedo que a ess\u00eancia de um hotel n\u00e3o est\u00e1 nos quartos bonitos, mas na fam\u00edlia ampliada formada por centenas de pessoas que cuidam umas das outras.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

LM: Como voc\u00ea equilibra intui\u00e7\u00e3o e estrat\u00e9gia ao decidir o futuro dos hot\u00e9is?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

VDS: There are decisions you can analyze for weeks, and others where you simply know: this is right. Passalacqua was very much like that. I feel instinct serves me and my family best when we are dreaming about the future of our company. Whenever we truly listen to our gut, those decisions prove themselves in the numbers, too.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

LM: Your family has cared for properties on Lake Como for generations. How do you honor that legacy without allowing it to stand still?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

VDS: We are guardians and caretakers before we are entrepreneurs and hosts. The best way to honor the past is, as the saying goes, to \u201ctend the flame, not worship the ashes.\u201d I was lucky enough to inherit incredibly passionate flames, and my goal from the beginning has been to keep the magic alive for generations to come.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

VDS: Um cap\u00edtulo completamente novo na hist\u00f3ria da hospitalidade do lago. Desde o instante em que atravessamos seus port\u00f5es, percebemos a possibilidade de criar algo especial, profundamente pessoal e inteiramente diferente do Grand Hotel Tremezzo: uma casa verdadeira, onde os h\u00f3spedes pudessem redescobrir a arte perdida da villeggiatura.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

LM: Muitos hot\u00e9is perseguem a perfei\u00e7\u00e3o, enquanto o Passalacqua parece buscar intimidade. Qual \u00e9 a diferen\u00e7a?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

VDS: No centro de tudo est\u00e1 o genius loci, express\u00e3o latina que descreve o esp\u00edrito particular de um lugar. Primeiro, precisamos compreender o que torna aquele espa\u00e7o \u00fanico para, ent\u00e3o, permitir que essa identidade oriente todo o projeto. A alma de um lugar n\u00e3o nasce somente da arquitetura, do mobili\u00e1rio ou do design, mas de algo mais profundo, constru\u00eddo por sua hist\u00f3ria, suas tradi\u00e7\u00f5es e pela cultura da regi\u00e3o.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

LM: Como os dois hot\u00e9is preservam identidades t\u00e3o distintas e, ao mesmo tempo, compartilham uma \u00fanica vis\u00e3o de hospitalidade?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

VDS: Nossa vis\u00e3o est\u00e1 enraizada na fam\u00edlia, no patrim\u00f4nio e em uma italianidade verdadeira, mas nunca quisemos que as duas propriedades tivessem a mesma apar\u00eancia ou provocassem a mesma sensa\u00e7\u00e3o. O Grand Hotel Tremezzo \u00e9 um grande hotel glamouroso e vibrante da Belle \u00c9poque, enquanto o Passalacqua \u00e9 uma villa \u00edntima, preparada para receber os h\u00f3spedes como se estivessem em casa. Suas personalidades s\u00e3o completamente diferentes, mas a maneira de cuidar \u00e9 a mesma.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

LM: Quando voc\u00ea percebeu que o Passalacqua havia se tornado exatamente aquilo que sua fam\u00edlia imaginara?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

VDS: Estamos nos afastando de um modelo movido pelo excesso em dire\u00e7\u00e3o a algo muito mais poderoso, uma exclusividade de natureza emocional. A privacidade est\u00e1 se tornando um dos bens mais valiosos da hospitalidade, enquanto patrim\u00f4nio e autenticidade ganham import\u00e2ncia diante da novidade. O sil\u00eancio e o espa\u00e7o tamb\u00e9m se tornam luxos verdadeiros, porque luxo agora \u00e9 significado e aquilo que n\u00e3o est\u00e1 ao alcance de todos.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

LM: A tecnologia poder\u00e1 substituir parte do of\u00edcio de receber?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

VDS: Hospitalidade \u00e9, em \u00faltima inst\u00e2ncia, relacionamento e conex\u00e3o humana. A tecnologia pode tornar muitas coisas mais r\u00e1pidas e eficientes, mas nada substituir\u00e1 o cuidado e o acolhimento que sentimos diante de um sorriso genu\u00edno.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

LM: O que voc\u00ea espera que nunca mude nos pr\u00f3ximos vinte anos?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

VDS: A paix\u00e3o das pessoas por tr\u00e1s de tudo.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
