Iguatemi S.A., a major supporter of national and international fashion, announces the in-person participation of Amy Parris<\/a>, the renowned designer and costume designer of the Netflix series Stranger Things, at the 7th edition of Iguatemi Talks Fashion, scheduled for October 17 and 18, 2023, at JK Iguatemi. The series, a global phenomenon, has left its mark on the fashion world with iconic 1980s looks, many of which were created by Amy since the third season. On October 18, during the \u201cTalks,\u201d Amy will reveal her creative process, exploring how fashion can shape fictional characters and influence the clothing preferences of new generations, as well as share insights into the conception of the series\u2019 special costumes.<\/p>

Originally from Southern California, United States, Amy Parris began her career making clothes for herself and her friends in high school. She learned to sew from her grandmother and honed her design skills at California State University Long Beach. Since college, she has worked in the film and TV industry, initially creating music videos and believing that clothes can visually tell a character\u2019s story. In addition to Stranger Things, Amy has also contributed to various productions, including HBO\u2019s Westworld and Showtime\u2019s Yellowjackets. Her work has inspired fashion collections in collaboration with renowned American brands such as Levi\u2019s, Quiksilver, H&M, Hot Topic, and PacSun.<\/p>

In addition to Amy Parris, Iguatemi Talks Fashion 2023 will feature the international participation of Trey Laird, founder of the agency Laird+Partners and @AARMY, Dr. Barbara Sturm, founder, CEO, and chair of @DrBarbaraSturm, and fashion icon Dapper Dan.<\/p>

The event, organized by Iguatemi, reaches its 7th edition in 2023 with a significant legacy, contributing to the fashion world by promoting knowledge, unveiling new talents, and creating innovative experiences in a dynamic and ever-evolving industry. The curation of the lineup, always relevant since the first edition, brings together stellar guests who are references in their careers, highlighting the event\u2019s prominence as a valuable source of information on what is current and relevant, while keeping an eye to the future.<\/p>

Over the years, Iguatemi Talks Fashion has featured names such as Anitta at the inaugural edition in 2016, Virgil Abloh in 2017, Eva Chen and Noonoouri in 2018, demonstrating \u201cTalks\u201d vision in anticipating promising talents by combining avant-garde curation with established names such as Christian Louboutin, Ermenegildo Zegna, Gwyneth Paltrow, Karla Welch, Li Edelkoort, Marco Bizarri, Peter Marino, Remo Riffini, and Robert L. Triefus, confirming the authority allied to innovation.<\/p>

In addition to offering a unique experience, Iguatemi Talks Fashion 2023 also reinforces Iguatemi\u2019s philanthropy by allocating 10% of the revenue raised from ticket sales to IN-MOD (National Institute of Fashion and Design), a non-profit NGO founded in 2004 with the mission of promoting recognition and visibility of Brazilian fashion and design as value-added segments both in the domestic and international markets.<\/p>

After the success of the last edition, this year\u2019s conference will again be held in person, with limited spots for workshops. However, to reach audiences from various parts of the world, the plenary sessions will also be broadcast online. In 2022, Iguatemi Talks Fashion had 2,110 registered attendees, demonstrating the event\u2019s interest and relevance, which featured more than 50 speakers over two days of content.<\/p>
