From May 27 to June 3, 2023, Bottega Veneta celebrates Brazilian culture with an exclusive artistic program at Lina Bo Bardi\u2019s Glass House in S\u00e3o Paulo. The Square S\u00e3o Paulo is the latest in the brand\u2019s cultural exchange series, The Square, first presented in Dubai in 2022, followed by a second edition in Tokyo. Under the creative direction of Matthieu Blazy, the series brings together artists, guests and the public in site-specific immersive events that inspire curiosity and dialogue and champion Bottega Veneta\u2019s values of craftsmanship, creativity and self-expression.<\/span><\/p>

The Square S\u00e3o Paulo marks Bottega Veneta\u2019s 10 years in Brazil. Curated by Mari Stockler, the event evolves beyond the custom square structures of Dubai and Tokyo to the square form and lush setting of the Glass House, a landmark of Brazilian modernism. During the 11-day program, artists and artworks from across Brazil gathered to honor the legacy of the Italian Bo Bardi, explore her interaction with Brazilian culture and celebrate Brazilian creativity in all its forms.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The talents participating in The Square S\u00e3o Paulo include Arnaldo Antunes, Ib\u00e3 Salles, Vivian Caccuri, Luiz Zerbini, Carlito Carvalhosa, Rosana Paulino, Ala\u00edde Costa, Lenora de Barros, Cristiano Lenhardt, Leda Catunda, Ricardo Aleixo and Jo\u00e3o Camarero. The event will also feature works by Lygia Pape, H\u00e9lio Oiticica, Augusto de Campos, Mestre Guarany, Surubim Feliciano da Paix\u00e3o \u2013 as well as works by Bo Bardi herself, including original writings and furniture housed in the Glass House. Four books, based on the four routes of The Square, were published in a limited-edition box.<\/span><\/p>

The event\u2019s curation revolves around four thematic routes related to time, geometry and spirituality, Brazilian counterculture and the roots of Bossa Nova. Born in Rome, Bo Bardi moved to Brazil in 1946, becoming one of the most important and expressive figures of Brazilian modernism. With a strong emphasis on the social potential of design and architecture, her pioneering projects include the S\u00e3o Paulo Museum of Art and the SESC Pomp\u00e9ia leisure center. A keen writer and thinker, she co-founded the influential art magazine Habitat and also created jewelry, costumes, furniture and stage sets.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
