Nascido na Arg\u00e9lia e criado na Fran\u00e7a, a hist\u00f3ria de Yves Saint Laurent come\u00e7ou cedo, na inf\u00e2ncia, quando demonstrou grande interesse por desenhos e esbo\u00e7os que mais tarde se tornariam os vestidos que sua m\u00e3e e irm\u00e3s usariam em ocasi\u00f5es especiais. Ap\u00f3s a morte de Christian Dior em 1957, com apenas 21 anos, o estilista franc\u00eas foi nomeado diretor criativo da marca. Logo em seu primeiro lan\u00e7amento nessa fun\u00e7\u00e3o, a cole\u00e7\u00e3o de ver\u00e3o \u201c<\/span>Trap\u00e9zio<\/span><\/i>\u201dA cole\u00e7\u00e3o foi lan\u00e7ada com grande sucesso e aclama\u00e7\u00e3o. As cinturas marcadas, antes consideradas a assinatura oficial de Dior, deram lugar a uma silhueta mais leve e fluida, com menos tecido e muita eleg\u00e2ncia. A cole\u00e7\u00e3o rendeu ao estilista n\u00e3o apenas in\u00fameros pr\u00eamios, mas tamb\u00e9m o t\u00edtulo de "pequeno pr\u00edncipe da alta-costura".<\/span><\/p>

No auge do seu sucesso e antes de lan\u00e7ar oficialmente a sua famosa marca, enquanto ainda trabalhava na Dior, Yves Saint Laurent foi convocado para servir no ex\u00e9rcito argelino. E embora a experi\u00eancia n\u00e3o tenha sido boa para ele, os anos que passou no ex\u00e9rcito tamb\u00e9m o inspiraram a criar ic\u00f4nicos casacos de estilo militar que se tornaram um tema recorrente ao longo da sua carreira.<\/span><\/p>

Com sua maison fundada em 1962, o estilista sempre buscou mais e mais inova\u00e7\u00e3o no mundo da moda, tornando-se, assim, em grande parte respons\u00e1vel pela populariza\u00e7\u00e3o do termo pr\u00eat-\u00e0-porter, express\u00e3o cunhada por J.C. Weil e pioneiramente utilizada por Pierre Cardin em 1959, quando criou uma cole\u00e7\u00e3o nesse estilo. No entanto, foi somente atrav\u00e9s dos designs de Yves Saint Laurent que o termo se tornou amplamente conhecido, produzindo pe\u00e7as em larga escala sem abrir m\u00e3o da alt\u00edssima qualidade de um produto de luxo.<\/span><\/p>

O grande diferencial do <\/span>O Pequeno Pr\u00edncipe da Alta Costura,<\/span><\/i> Acompanhava e observava atentamente os movimentos art\u00edsticos, j\u00e1 que suas principais inspira\u00e7\u00f5es residiam na hist\u00f3ria, na arte e na literatura.
