From design of Moncler boutiques worldwide to the Baccarat Hotel in New York to The Lana in Dubai, Gilles & Boissier shape interiors that are at once poetic and precise, merging French savoir faire with global modernity.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Patrick Gilles and Doroth\u00e9e Boissier founded their Paris studio in 2004, after formative years with leading figures of contemporary design. He worked with Christian Liaigre and she with Philippe Starck. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Together they built an agency quickly recognized for interiors that balance rigor with sensuality, geometry with lyricism. Their approach is never formulaic. It is a dialogue that transforms each commission into a bespoke story. Their long relationship with Remo Ruffini, CEO of Moncler, grew from envisioning Moncler boutiques worldwide to designing private residences for Ruffini himself, translating a brand\u2019s alpine heritage into intimate domestic settings with the same precision found in their larger projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whether in Paris, New York, or Dubai, their interiors remind us that architecture can be both shelter and story, a lived poetry where every material has lineage and every room carries memory.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The Baccarat Hotel in New York, opened in 2015, marked a milestone. Developed by Starwood Capital, with the tower designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and interiors by Gilles & Boissier<\/a>, the project translated the heritage of the French crystal house into a contemporary hospitality landmark. Pleated silk walls, champagne-toned palettes, and bespoke furniture coexist with Baccarat chandeliers and ruby accents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The dramatic bar nods to both American long bars and the salons of French h\u00f4tels particuliers, with natural wood finishes and vaulted ceilings. The building itself, conceived by SOM, was described as \u201ca honed piece of exquisite glassware,\u201d an architectural echo of the brand\u2019s essence. If the Baccarat Hotel was about channeling French heritage onto a Manhattan stage, The Lana in Dubai invited a new dialogue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the first Dorchester Collection property in the Middle East, the hotel with architecture by Foster + Partners and interiors by Gilles & Boissier required both cultural sensitivity and contemporary luxury. Opened in 2024, The Lana features 225 rooms, custom furnishings by the studio, curated artworks, and the region\u2019s first Dior Spa. Here, design is less about pastiche than resonance, a Parisian eye attuned to Gulf light and scale. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most recently, the studio unveiled the redesign of Four Seasons Formentor, Mallorca, where they created a sophisticated and modern ambiance while paying homage to the property’s stories past and the captivating landscapes of the Balearic archipelago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Equally emblematic of their philosophy is the Appartement on Avenue Montaigne in Paris, the duo\u2019s own showroom. Stepping inside feels like entering a private residence: bedroom, living rooms, an office, each space staged with their creations in a harmony of volumes, materials, and light. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond lies the gallery, their laboratory of ideas, where intuition leads to experiments with color, pattern, and daring juxtapositions. Under the gaze of Christophe Charbonnel\u2019s monumental Colossus, the Appartement embodies their spirit of boldness and refinement. What makes Gilles & Boissier distinctive is their ability to layer global narratives with meticulous detail. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Moncler\u2019s Paris flagship, lighting was calibrated to recall alpine daylight, a subtle nod to the brand\u2019s mountaineering roots. In their residential projects, textures matter as much as forms. Parquet floors sourced from Burgundy, custom joinery in rare veneers, and vintage pieces reimagined in contemporary settings. Beyond commissions, the duo has extended their vision into their own collections. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since 2021 they have produced a line of furniture and accessories in close collaboration with artisans. Each piece \u2014 tables with visible wood grain, metal finished with traditional patinas, lamps woven from natural fibers \u2014 expresses the same philosophy as their interiors, modernity informed by heritage. Their monograph, published by Rizzoli, gathers two decades of projects into a volume that reads less like a portfolio and more like a manifesto of balance. In an era where luxury risks becoming generic, Gilles & Boissier insist on singularity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
